Want To Be A Better Creative? Be Creative Everyday

If You're Creative Don't Ignore It - Feed It

It's a bitter pill to swallow but in order to be a more productive creative you should be setting time aside for your arts everyday. A lot of us have jobs and families that can dominate the day but I'm talking about finding at least 15 minutes a day to spend on your creativity.

I lived with a professional chef years ago. He works 12 hour days cooking for people. Every morning he puts his best into the little breakfast he makes for himself. Every time he cooked for himself he took it as a an opportunity to practise and be creative without pressure... which lead to some brilliant meals and sometimes crap ones. The point I'm trying to make here is that my chef friend knew he had to make time to feed his creative side in order to be a better chef. He took the small opportunities in his spare time to create something new and experiment. Cooking was his passion. Through practising everyday he turned it into his chef profession

Songwriters need to write something everyday, even if it's something small. Songs don't need to be brilliant every time. Writing some bad songs often lay the foundations for good ones.

A Music Producer needs to produce something everyday or at least take the time to listen to something new.

...And chefs... well they need to cook something everyday.
